1. Commitment to Accessibility

We aim to provide an inclusive digital environment that supports access to journal information, article metadata, policy pages, archives, and essential user journeys across desktop and mobile devices.

Accessibility is an integral part of our continuous service improvement approach, and we actively seek to reduce barriers that may affect access to research-related information and publishing services.

2. Accessibility Standard Target

We aim to design and enhance our digital services in alignment with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

We recognize that some legacy content or third-party materials may not yet fully conform to these standards.

3. Measures We Take

  • Use of clear heading structures and meaningful page titles
  • Improved keyboard navigation and access to interactive elements
  • Readable typography, appropriate spacing, and contrast-aware design
  • Responsive design for accessibility across devices and screen sizes
  • Continuous review of forms, buttons, links, and system messages
  • Encouragement of accessible publishing practices for submitted content

4. Accessible Scholarly Content

We encourage authors and contributors to adopt accessible content practices, including:

  • Logical document structure
  • Descriptive headings and labels
  • Meaningful link text
  • Alternative text for images and non-text content

However, due to the nature of scholarly publishing, some PDFs, archived articles, tables, figures, or externally provided materials may have accessibility limitations.

5. Known Limitations

Some older content, third-party integrations, embedded media, or externally hosted documents may not fully meet current accessibility standards.

We are actively working to identify and improve high-priority areas and enhance accessibility over time.

6. Third-Party Content and Services

Certain parts of the website may rely on third-party services such as hosting platforms, indexing systems, embedded tools, or external resources.

While we strive to use accessible technologies, we do not have full control over the accessibility of these third-party services.

7. Feedback, Assistance, and Alternative Access

If you encounter any accessibility barriers or require assistance accessing content, we encourage you to contact us with details of the issue, including the page involved and the type of assistance required.

Where reasonably possible, we will:

  • Provide accessible alternatives
  • Address the issue promptly
  • Guide users to alternative access options

8. Review Cycle and Updates

This Accessibility Statement will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect improvements in technology, updates in accessibility standards, and enhancements in journal services.

Users are encouraged to review this page regularly.
